Rising Up: Children, Arts, and Community - Preschool Edition

...a multi-arts program full of connection, play, and joy for preschoolers and their grown-ups

The preschool edition of Rising Up engages children ages 2-4 in a process of discovery through play and the arts. Part of each class will take place OUTDOORS, as the weather permits! Accompanied by their adult, children will be supported in their process-based art-making (creative movement, visual art, storytelling, and music) and guided through small group activities that engage their creativity and imagination. We will also share a healthy snack together each week. (Babies in arms welcome alongside older siblings.)

Fee: $119*/child – fully subsidized spots are available. Contact me for more details.

* In fact, the six-week program costs $180, but Church of the Ascension and the Anglican Foundation of Canada are proud to provide a partial subsidy to all participants. (As our host and partner, Church of the Ascension believes that creativity and play are good for the soul, but Rising Up does not include any religious content.)

When: Wednesdays from 10-11:30 am

Dates: October 12 - November 16

Where: Church of the Ascension, 253 Echo Drive

COVID-19 protocols in place. Masks must be worn indoors and we will be mindful of physical distancing wherever possible. (Please let us know if your child is not yet tolerating a mask.) Adult facilitators are fully vaccinated. Program dates and/or format may be adapted to meet changing public health requirements.

Join me and a team of interdisciplinary artist-volunteers for program of self-discovery through the arts. We will support your child to bring their ideas and stories to life and connect with other kids in the process of creating together. NO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE NEEDED!

Half of each class is outdoors and focused on creative movement, whether in sunshine or in rain! The other half of class is indoors, where children will enjoy a healthy snack, then participate in process-based arts activities (visual art, storytelling, music-making, and drama).

Each six-week session costs $50* – fully subsidized spots are available. Contact me for more details.
